Routine testing of transformers

Testing Laboratory Distribution Transformers.

History

In late 1999, begins with the execution of routine testing of distribution transformers, with the direct assistance of trained personnel by Laboratory Equipment and Materials Testing (LAPEM) CFE since late 2000 starts the draft accreditation to the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA), obtaining the certificate accredited laboratory as from May 2001.


Objective

Provide the best service inspection and routine testing in distribution transformers and three phase, in accordance with the express requirements on Mexican standards (NOM-002-SEAT, NMX-J-169-ANCE, NMX-J-116-ANCE , NMX-J-285-ANCE and NMX-J-123-ANCE) in its last review, and the rules of existing CFE.


Testing Types

EMA accredited Methods:

  1. Transformation ratio, polarity, phasor diagram and phase sequence
  2. Power factor set windings
  3. Insulation Resistance
  4. Measurement of the ohmic resistance of the windings
  5. No load losses and excitation current
  6. Losses caused by the impedance load
  7. Hermeticity test
  8. Test of applied tension
  9. Test induced voltage distribution for transformers
  10. Determination of the dielectric breakdown voltage
Testability

Single Phase Transformer 5 to 167 kVA up to 34.5 kV and phase transformer 30 to 500 kVA up to 34.5 kV.
